It’s never easy when someone close to you has said their last good-bye to their dog. You want to help, to console, but really all you can do is just be there for them.
There are those who talk of the Rainbow Bridge, the place where your four-legged friends await you. It gives some hope, doesn’t it, to think that you really just meant to say “see you later.” For myself, I’d love for this to be true.
I also know that by befriending a dog, we’re taught of love and commitment and warm laughter. And their oh-too-short time with us forces us to accept loss. We learn how to process the ache and continue our daily lives without their heartbeat alongside our own.
In our hearts, we say. We keep the memories safe there.
But it’s not easy, of course. Nothing of value is.

It was a new one for me too, Spencer. But it did feel so genuine, especially when I matched it to the paw print photo. Happy WW to you.

It isn’t easy saying goodbye to your pet, it’s a very difficult thing to do…. One does suffer – greatly.

It seems like they have so much to teach us and we just don’t have enough time. Thanks for stopping by, you guys.
